Original finish to a Shimano DX seatpost?

Was the original finish to these anno or were they just polished?

And I know you can get resto decals for them but was the colour bit originally sprayed?

Anno or machined bare allloy , never polished .

Cheers i've got one (Blue) that needs a bit of a clean up and didn't know whether to machine polish it or send it off for anno, prob go for a machine polish on it  :daumenhoch:
