70's handle bar mystery
« on: January 11, 2010, 10:17 PM »
Another odd one for y'all

Came across a pair or handle bars in the loft when clearing out the old family home a couple of years ago, i was the only person in the household that was into bikes (but i don't remember buying them :-\) and only ever BMX's (after the Strika/Grifter days)

Done a Google search... No luck ???

RADNALL handle bars (obviously made in England), 30-1/2" wide, 8" rise, 7/8"diameter, satin black over chrome plate, original finish with original decal.

Odd place to put the decal, under the stem when fitted?, unless it's for a wide twin clamp stem.

My guess is they are 60's/70's motorbike bars, i.e. trials/scrambler?

Any ideas or feedback would be good

If there's air in the tyres... it's a rider

Look like 70's Crosser bars all the way! there were many British company's making bars in the 70's towards early 80's. Wassel, Randall, Renthal, Rickman, just loads!

When you say... Crosser, do you mean it in the 'Motocross' sense or Like as we used to call them 'Trackers' i.e. an early form of English cruiser, 'cow-horns' and knobblies?

What's a Beamish ???

What's a Beamish ???

Graham Beamish / Beamish Motors - Graham Beamish former BSA works rider / Beamish Motors were the importers and company handling Suzuki sales in the early 1970's.  Suzuki gave Beamish Motors world-wide manufacturing rights for all Suzuki powered trials bikes in the mid 70's.

Rode MX for years Zak, started off on a Maico MC250, had a Mega 2 (fooking beast of a bike), then had a KTM 495 water cooled.  Then went back to a 1986 RM250.
