Right lads about to build a Replica but I need someone to paint it for me, not sure whether its Dan's thing but I will call him anyway, but anyone know what the red paint code is?

Also anyone know where I can get a set of the ET repop decals from?

Decals often come up on ebay & thats where i got mine from. There hasnt been any for ages but your in luck, theres a set for sale now:

Its a question often asked about the red paint code, if you search on here then you may find a close match. i ended up getting a spray can that was very near, I still cant decide if its to dark or to light which prob means its about right. It really depends on the light when you take a pic;

After staring at it on the wall for the last 6 months i'm still very happy with it!

$:-\$ sorry Steve, was a bit of a deal I had going with someone, he wanted something of mine, I wanted this etc.. over time he came round to selling it to me and we done the deal sorry mate. Must say, has been hard getting hold of a Hot Heart or ET. Not normally my restoration these type of bikes but its my first real memory of a BMX, so has to be in the collection...

Same for me matey, I was in LA in 84 and have a picture of the ET bike at Universal studios. Have the mugs, posters, number plate and all the variations of the film so its got to be in my collection as well.

Is yours a HH or a propper Kuwi? and did u get it as a complete or just the frame and forks?

Its a HH Steve, needs a bit of work doing also and is just the f/f. I don't have any ET stuff apart from 2 NOS seats in me loft, and i'll be fitting an Elina Lightening to it anyway. Just in need of some gold rims and some comp 3's and I think I have everything now. Shame to open my NOS kuwi grips in my loft but needs must $:-\$

Just got some grips on ebay.com for $12.99! Bargain, all nos and packaged, lovely. So just need some Comp 3's really and still debating about this gold wheelset

tbh i never really looked at kuwahara's as i never had one, i dont know why really as i am really pleased with mine...

you should try your local oxfam shop matt.....

Hi, I'm a newbie here- this my first post. I'm getting a Tange hot heart f and f off of my long suffering Mrs tomorrow and i want to get her dressed as an E.T. - the frame, not the Mrs. I read this thread and while a few names were mentioned it doesn't seem anyone really stuck their hand up. Is there anyone currently doing this kind of paint work and how much should I expect to pay?

About the paint, I vaguely remember someone mentioning a Datsun colour that was close...
I got this in an email from Howie Cohen a while ago:

Hi Paul,
My recollection is that the red color was close to Pantone WARM RED C or Pantone RED 032C.
However the paint had some metallic sparkle to give it the CANDY APPLE (flamboyant) red color appearance.
...The frames & forks were painted at the Kuwahara factory...

its a peugeot colour called rouge lucifer (EKQ) thats as near as it can possibly get, i've painted several of these in this colour and it looks bang on....
