MT Racing Silverfox
« on: December 31, 2009, 04:18 PM »
Thought I would share this with you guys. This was my one and only BMX bitd. Got her in November 83 for my 12th birthday from my mum & dad. She came down from their loft after being up there for the past few years and I have spent about a month on and off stripping and polishing. I think she has come up a treat. Totally original except for NOS Cheng Shin tyres as the originals were shot after years of standing. Unbelievably, I used to ride her to school most days, raced her for a short time and gave her some stick on the local dirt jumps and tracks. This resto has got me completely hooked and i'm currently restoring an MT Fox, MT Superfox and building three Skyway TA's  :idiot2:
Hope you like it  :)

Love that, maybe the North East's most popular bike from B.I.T.D as that is mostly what was around the area i lived in. Brilliant mate  :4_17_5:

Personally I think the fork stickers were applied upside down and back to front  :idiot2: It has been like this since 83 and I think it just adds to the character. I do know of another Silverfox that is exactly the same  :daumenhoch:

whether those stickers are right or wrong mate, it's a superb looking bike, and one every single RAD member would be happy to own.

You've done a superb job on it. Real Old school  :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

Brilliant Nathan  :4_17_5:

That's the exact bike i had bitd and it being your original bike is something special too . I still have mine but it didn't survive anywhere near as good as that and i ended up powdering it .  :(

The fork decals are the correct ones , there just on upside down  :D

Superb build mate , very original and very clean , love it  :smitten:

Thanks for taking me back to August 1983 when i picked mine up from Sale cycles  :daumenhoch:

Going of this build I can't wait to see the other MT's and the Skyway's  ;)

Think the Cheng Shin's came from Biaggio in the end. To be honest i've spent a small fortune on tyres lately - 3 pairs of Cheng Shin, 3 pairs of Comp 3's and a set of Odyssey  :idiot2:
