"Skyway TA Black Magic Project" - Deja View
« on: December 27, 2009, 03:38 PM »
So I have had this project on the back burner for some time.  I bought the frame and fork set from N2CUS and I asked him to paint it in a different colour to the usual white, and I was quite keen on a dark metalic grey or black so after some discussion Neil came up with the 1 off paint colour which includes Jaguar 'Magic Black' but also includes Blue and Purple Pearl to lift it and give it an extra sheen.  In the bright daylight it looks really amazing.

So . . . you can imagine how upset I was when Meticulous revealed his Black TA, I was completely gutted and had been collecting chrome parts for mine as well so it would have been bloody identical.  So I had to go back and start again, I changed the colour scheme from Black and Chrome to Black and Red.  I think it should look pretty good when put together.

So I have got decals from Del and most of the parts, I still need and Red Seat Clamp and I have ordered a pair of Red Tri AME's which are on their way.

I hope you like it, I'm sure there will be many of you that dont, and think I'm a bit of a Philistine but it can always go back into white, so its not completely spoilt forever.  Its nice to use a bit of imagination for a change and to do something a bit different.

So lets here we go.  I will put up more photos later.

I havent managed to get the cups in the BB so I cant finish the build tonight, gonna take it to a bike shop that can press them in for me asap and finish it off.  But this is what it looks like loosely put together so far.

Good to see something different with a TA build Ben  :daumenhoch:

Need some outside pics to do the paintwork justice if it's anything like the Cali i have just sprayed in a dark Blue pearl  ;)

Nice touch with the custom serial number decals too  :daumenhoch:

Just unsure on the Red crank with the Red pedals , maybe a contrast on the pedals would be better  :-\  but  :wtf: do i know  :D

Looks good though mate  :4_17_5:

Cheers Buddy.

I have got some black SX pedals, I could give it a swap over and see what it looks like?

Del did a good job on the decals didnt he!

Your pink Goose had an amazing response, Did she like it and keep the Olsgoose decals on it?

Cheers
Ben

I would be tempted to give them a try Ben  ;)  but don't go just of my opinion , might be worth waiting for what some of the seasoned pro's  on here say  :D

Del's work is spot on  :4_17_5: , it was the first time I have used him on 'olsgoose' and it won't be the last  ;)

Olivia loved it mate, she took it out for a spin today . She wants to keep the 'olsgoose' decals on aswell  :D

Hi Si

I know what you mean, and I've been told it before because I put them on all my bikes, but they save the paint and drop outs and are tensioners too.  I dont know what else would do the job really?

The decals are great aren't they, Del did a good job, the serial number at the rear is cool!

at the end of the day if its a rider use em if not i wouldnt bother (personally) but understand why you do use em...  otherwise go for the helix frame savers??

and yeah love the frame number decal - does he normally do that or was that your idea?

Its gonna be a rider   :daumenhoch:

The serial number was something I asked for in addition to the usual 'TOTALY AERODYNAMIC' sticker, just thought I would try it and I think it looks great.

I'd go OPC for a rider and save those cranks for a race bike project , also I'd dump the tensioners or get older more basic style ones if you really want tensioners .
