cruiser gearing help needed

right how does this work i have got 44t front on 24 inch cruiser what size freewheel should i use to get to 44/16 is it the same or does wheel size change this please

I believe you'd need a 19t....

Most people drop the chainwheel size down a couple too, so something like 39/17 or summat like that.

I'm running 41-18 on my race bike at the moment.

Yep, 41-18 is almost the same as 44-16 on a "20 and was fairly standard BiTD for adult cruisers.  I had a Falcon cruiser for a couple of weeks and I'm pretty sure that was the gearing on it.

You can really stomp those gears Crooch!!!

41t - 18 is between 44t-16 and 45t-16 so it a good starter and probably more suited for us old folk who cannot spin as fast as the used to!!

I did run 40-18 and it felt too spinny.  I'd go for 41-18 :daumenhoch:

i just find 41-18 too spinny - ive ran it a couple if times but i just run out of legs like that....
