Which magazine survey- Top 10 freestyle bikes in 2006
« on: March 17, 2006, 04:57 PM »
Ok , so here's the story.  I've got a  We the people Daredevil - (Ok its entry level) which I bought for my first comeback in 2000. It weights a ton. Recently, for the second comeback, I thought I'd ride my 88 Haro Sport once I got it all built up and powdercoated.. Now Ive nearly got it completed, and it looks the bees knees and  is as light as a feather. Now I  don't wan't to use it as my daily ride and ruin it.  So the plan is to replace the We the people F &F. Everyone tells me new school bikes ride better, but I've never tried one.  I don't want a new school bike to weigh as much as my old WTP.
Question1. What new school F&F do you recommend that doesn't weigh a ton, and rides well. ( unlike me)

Cheers Ross

There`s a few of us riding Proper f/f`s (Carlo`s company) and they are good, drop him a pm or e-mail and see what hes got that might suit you  :daumenhoch:

If you want a bit of an old-school feel go for a Premium Products frame - they rock.

But, it's horses for courses - if you are going to Epic you'll be able to jump on a load of different bikes and make your own mind up. I'm not riding there (broken foot), but I can bring my Premium if you'd like a go.

Stay rad.

any frames are light these days nearly every frame is under 6 lbs and most forks are quite light too ... just go with what you like the look of  dont even consider the weigth because if its new parts from decent companies the chances are it will end up under 30lbs anyway

mines new haro flair and its well over 30 lbs nearer to 35 but it rides pretty nice just slightly heavy .even the cheaper ranges are slowly loosing the lbs .

Hi

I am no good at new school, however I saw a young-ish lad last week doing some mad stuff.

He had a KINK (spelt right?) and it was pretty damn light. I think it costs a bit though, but was a good looking and solid, light bike.

I think thats my problem. I've got low end bike and low end parts. I coudn't believe the weight difference when I got my OS Haro sport bolted together. That's how heavy it should be. It makes the WTP feel like a burner, and when you are as crap on a bike as me, you need all the help you can get. ;D
